Payroll Mate uses JET 4.0 and MDAC...
What is the Microsoft Jet Database Engine ?
- The JET engine is the database engine used by Microsoft Access and many other applications including Payroll Mate.
- This engine is free and is already included with most versions of Windows.
- It's necessary to keep the JET database engine in good working condition for Payroll Mate to run properly. If you are interested to know more about keeping a Jet 4.0 database in top working condition, please follow this link on the Microsoft website.
What is MDAC?
- MDAC (Microsoft Data Access Components) is a free standard database interface for Windows.
- Most versions of Windows already ship with MDAC except for some earlier versions of Windows 98.
- Payroll Mate requires MDAC 2.8 to run properly.
