Through the CF\/SF Program, the IRS electronically\nsends information returns (original and corrected) to participating states. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The latest 2024 requirements, instructions and deadlines for\nthe Combined Fed \/ State program are part of IRS Publication 1220 (Specifications\nfor Electronic Filing of Forms 1097, 1098, 1099, 3921, 3922, 5498, and W-2G). Please\nremember that in order to participate in the program and upload your 1099s to\nthe IRS and have your forms forwarded to the state, you are required to obtain\nan IRS (Information Returns) TCC code. You can follow this link to know how to\ndo that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.realtaxtools.com\/how-to-apply-for-an-irs-fire-tcc-code\/\"><strong>How to Apply for an IRS FIRE TCC Code<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Combined Federal \/ State 1099 Filing Deadlines:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The 2024 test system will be available on January\n7, 2025.<\/li><li>The 2024 production system will be available on January\n13, 2025.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>As of December 2024, the following states participate in the CF\/SF Program: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina and Wisconsin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new combined federal state code for Rhode Island is 44.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How to participate in the 2024 Combined Federal \/ State 1099\nFiling program?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Make sure you have an IRIS TCC Code.<\/li><li>Make sure 1099-NEC Box 6 for one of the\nrecipients is filled with a state that participates in the CF\/SF program.<\/li><li>From the top menu inside W2 Mate 2024, select &#8220;E-filling&#8221;\nand then select &#8220;1099-NEC Forms&#8221;. Next, select &#8220;Federal (for\nupload to IRS FIRE System)&#8221;.<\/li><li>In the dialog that comes, fill-in the\ntransmitter and company info. <\/li><li>Most important step: Check the \u201cInclude Combined\nFederal \/ State Information\u201d checkbox and also make sure to check the box that\nsays \u201cCreate TEST File\u201d.<\/li><li>Review all info and click OK.
