This feature is useful for Quicken users who would like to track payroll checks inside Quicken. This feature is also useful for the discontinued Quickpayroll users, who recently moved to Payroll Mate.<\/p>\n<p>The process of exporting payroll checks from Payroll Mate to Quicken involves three main steps:<\/p>\n<p>1- The first step is to generate the QIF file in Payroll Mate by running the \u201cExport Payroll to Quicken QIF\u201d report.<\/p>\n<p>2- The second step is to create an account in Quicken.<\/p>\n<p>3- The third step is to import the QIF file exported from Payroll Mate into the account created in Quicken.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Step One: Generating a QIF file inside Payroll Mate<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">(1) Inside Payroll Mate: Open the \u201cExport Payroll to Quicken QIF\u201d report by clicking on the menu item:<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Tools &gt; Export Payroll Data to &gt; Quicken QIF. Then select the list of employees to be included in the export. For &#8220;Quicken Category&#8221;, just click on the &#8220;Default&#8221; button to use the default value. In the dialog that comes up select the path of the QIF resulting file and then hit &#8220;Save&#8221; . This will cause Payroll Mate to create a QIF with the name and path you selected. It&#8217;s always a good idea to select the Desktop as the path for the output file, so you can easily locate later on . This will start the \u201cQuicken Account Setup\u201d wizard. See Figure\u00a05 below:<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-190\" title=\"Quicken-QIF-Figure-5\" src=\"https:\/\/www.realtaxtools.com\/Payroll-1099\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/Quicken-QIF-Figure-5.jpg\" alt=\"Quicken-QIF-Figure-5\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong>Figure\u00a05 (select \u201cNew Quicken Account\u201d)\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>(4) If the wizard starts by asking you \u201cWhat is the financial institution for this account?\u201d, then select the option: \u201cThis account is not held at a financial institution\u201d and click \u201cNext\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>(5) When the wizard asks you to \u201cChoose the type of account to add\u201d, choose \u201cCash\u201d from under the \u201cCash Flow\u201d category, and click \u201cNext\u201d. When you are done with the wizard click the &#8220;Done&#8221; button.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><\/em>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Step Three: Importing QIF file into the Quicken Account<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>(1) Start Quicken.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>(2) Choose File menu &gt; Import &gt; QIF file. You will be prompted with the \u201cQIF Import\u201d window.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>(3) Start by selecting the path of the QIF file that you have created using Payroll Mate.
