Payroll Mate is sold on a calendar year basis, no matter what time of the year, you will receive the most up-to-date tax tables we have available for that year you bought Payroll Mate. If you buy Payroll Mate 2022 for example you will be getting the tax table for the tax calendar year 2022. Each calendar year has its own license and needs to be purchased separately.

If there are any updates after your initial purchase of the software for that particular year you will receive free updates for an entire year.

Payroll Mate is sold separately for each calendar year Jan - Dec for one time yearly fee regardless of what time of the year you buy the software its good for that calendar year. Updates throughout the calendar year are free and users will not be required to pay any additional monthly fees for using the software for the related year.

2. Now Click on the “Tax Categories” Button.

3. Click on Add to create a new Tax Category.

4. Fill in the different fields. Below are suggested values:

a. Title: School Tax.

b. Abbreviation: School Tax.

c. Calculation: Fill in the way you will calculate this deduction..

e. Press OK to finish.

5. Go to the employees list by clicking the “Employees” button on the left side of the application.

6. Select the employees who have to pay this tax and click Edit.

7. Click Next until you reach the “Taxes” Page, you should see the tax you added as one of the listed taxes. Make sure you check the box next to it. Click Next and then Finish to finalize your changes.

The voucher line represents a line on the top of the voucher.  In many circumstances, customers use their business name, however, Payroll Mate, a payroll check software, will print the name of your business on the bottom of the voucher.  You can use any data you would like on your voucher line or you can leave it blank.

Now the next time you create a payroll check (for the employees with this type of tax), the tax will get automatically calculated and printed on the pay stub.

Form 944 replaces Form 941 (Employer’s Quarterly Federal Tax Return) for businesses with an annual employment tax liability of $1,000 or less. Form 944 is filed annually (once a year) .

You can add State forms support for the states of Illinois (electronic support), California ( DE 9 and DE 9C ) Texas (Unemployment Insurance), New York (NYS-45), and FL (RT6).

For other states, you can pull a state taxes report.

Yes, you can.

With our payroll software you may create custom income categories to fit your company's needs.  Go to Company, select Income and then select Add.  Payroll Mate, our payroll solution, will keep a ytd total for gross wages for all income categories.
