What is the Microsoft Jet Database Engine ?

The JET engine is the database engine used by Microsoft Access and many other  applications including Payroll Mate.
This engine is free and is already included with most versions of Windows.
It's necessary to keep the JET database engine in good working condition for Payroll Mate to run properly. If you are interested to know more about keeping  a Jet 4.0 database in top working condition, please follow this link on the Microsoft website.

What is MDAC?

MDAC (Microsoft Data Access Components) is a free standard database interface for Windows.
Most versions of Windows already ship with MDAC except for some earlier versions of Windows 98.
Payroll Mate requires MDAC 2.8 to run properly.
