How to E-File W2 Forms to State

E-file W-2 forms with your state using W2 Mate® software. Many states are now requiring W2 electronic filing. Our W-2 State electronic filing software will generate a submission file that includes state records based on your state requirements. Step by Step Instructions

Make sure you have the correct Company open inside W2 Mate

Note: In order to use this feature you must purchase and enable W2 Mate Option #4 to electronically file and confirm W2 Mate supports your state

1. Click "E-Filing" from the top menu

2. Select "W2 Forms"

This will open the Electronic Filing Submitter Setup page

3. Complete all of the Submitter and Contact information fields (for the PIN you may use 00000000)

4. Select State to generate the W2 electronic submission file

5. Select correct State from drop down menu

6. Select "Browse" to select the location for the electronic file to be saved

7. Click "OK"

8. Click "Copy the File Path to Clipboard"

9. Click "Close"

Note: Once the W2 State E-file is created, log into your state’s Department of Revenue website and follow the instructions for uploading your file
