How to Import W2 Data Using Microsoft Dynamics GP

W2 Mate® will import your W2 data from Microsoft Dynamics GP. Importing W-2 data from Microsoft Dynamics is straightforward. You will generate an electronic submission file (EFW2) from Microsoft Dynamics GP and then will import that file into W2 Mate®. We offer instructions built into W2 Mate® software and this tutorial for assistance.

Step by Step Instructions

Make sure you have the correct Company open inside W2 Mate

Note: In order to use this feature you must purchase and enable W2 Mate Option #3 to import

1. Click "Import Data" from the top menu

2. Select "From Microsoft Dynamics GP (W2 Data)"

This will open the Microsoft Dynamics GP Import wizard

3. Read Message then Click "OK"

Note: You need to generate a W2 Magnetic Media file inside Microsoft Dynamics GP and then import that file into W2 Mate using the EFW2 Format import feature.

4. Click "Import Data" from the top menu

5. Select "From W2 Electronic Filing Format (EFW2 Format)"

This will open the W2 Electronic Filing Import wizard

6. Click "Browse" to select the W2 file created in Microsoft Dynamics GP

7. Review data on screen

8. Click "Import"

9. Click "OK"
