Fixing Social Security Tax Withheld (Box 4) on Form W-2
An error in the amount of Social Security tax withheld (Box 4) can result in a mismatch with the wages reported. To fix this, a W-2c is required. It's crucial that the new tax amount in Box 4 corresponds correctly to the wages in Box 3 to avoid further issues with the SSA.

- Click on the W-2C Forms Tab and then click Add W-2C Form.

- In the "Previously reported" column, enter the incorrect social security tax amount from Box 4.
