Kansas 1099-NEC E-File Details
- All 1099-NEC forms must be filed by January 31 following the end of the calendar year.
- The State of Kansas follows the IRS guidelines in regard to the filing of 1099-NEC Information Returns per K-S-A 79-3222.
- The following records are expected: "T" Transmitter Record, "A" Payer Record, "B" Record according to specific 1099, "C" Payee Totals Record and "K" State Totals Record.
- The Kansas Department of Revenue no longer accepts 1099s reports filed on magnetic media.
- State tax ID formatting: 036-123456789F-01, 036-A12345678F-01, 036-K12345678F-01 [first 3 digits must be 036. The last 2 digits should be 01 through 09].
- Before E-Filing with Kansas, you need to enter data inside our software. 1099-NEC records can be typed manually or imported from Excel spreadsheet, QuickBooks, Sage 50, Dynamics GP and other accounting sources.
